Who/What is Signpost?

Signpost is the newspaper for the over fifty year old residents in the Wolverhampton area.

It provides readers with information about local services and organisations as well as items of local interest and a chance to reminisce. Signpost is published as a wrap around on the Wolverhampton Chronicle on a quarterly basis.

The main function is to pass on the latest information from the City Council services to and for older people. It has close links with the Over 50's Forum, Social Services Department, Older Peoples Health and Community Care Information Service King Street, Age Concern in Darlington Street, along with many other groups and services within the city.

On a somewhat lighter side there is a 'Where in Wolverhampton' competition which carries a £5.00 prize and a 'Word Search' with prizes of £15.00, £10.00 and £5.00 for the first three correct entries drawn. There is a Recipe corner and also a Gardening section.

Signpost is managed by a Committee of seven volunteers:

Chair:
Treasurer: Len Phelps JP
Secretary: Margaret Glover
Trevor Russell
James Smith
Editorial Team: Jim Speakman
Brad Purshouse
