Who Are The Forum?
The Forum are the older people of Wolverhampton with a determination to ensure that the older citizens are not neglected or patronised by the services that are supposed to be there to help them. The Forum consists of Individual Members and Group Members. There is a Management Committee and a number of Sub Committees working in such areas as: Health, Transport, Housing, Communication, Public Toilets and Public Safety.
Individual Members are as the name suggests people who join as an individual and are asked to pay an annual subscription of £1.00.
Group Members are representatives of older people's organisations. The organisation joins the Forum (annual subscription £5.00) and is entitled to send a named representative to the monthly meetings.
The Management Committee consists of Chair, Vice Chair, Hon Secretary, Hon Treasurer, Three individual members and two group members. The officers are elected on an annual basis by the total membership at the Annual General Meeting.
The Sub Committees are made up of members who have a particular interest in the subject and are appointed by the Management Committee. The Chair of each Sub Committee is elected by the members of that Sub Committee. Each of the Sub Committees is responsible to the Main Forum.
