Transport Sub Committee
The work under taken by
the Sub Committee centres on issues about transport for older people in the
City. They raise issues with Centro about Bus Travel, this includes the
routes taken by buses, areas not covered by services, dangers of standing up on
the bus before it stops and bus shelters and obstructions in the gang way. The
transport Sub Committee has formed working partnerships with Centro and Travel
West Midlands to raise issues of concern. The issues are then answered by key
personnel from Centro and Travel West Midlands.
This open channel of communication enables the Transport Companies to have an insight into the needs of the older traveller and for older people to understand the system and how they could use the system to make suggestions for change.
